About Us

The Old Millbrook School Family Centre, incorporated in 2001, is a non-profit agency dedicated to the care, nurturing, and well-being of children.

In the spring of 2018 we began operating The Old Millbrook School EarlyON Child and Family Centre.

The Old Millbrook School EarlyON Child and Family Centre takes a community-directed approach to providing accessible programs, services, and resources that are aimed at meeting the needs of children and families living in our community.

A volunteer Board of Directors, comprised of parents, teachers and other local residents oversee and take an active role in the Centre's operations.  Our program is funded by The Ministry of Education through The City of Peterborough.

Meet the Staff

Nancy Hurley, the Centre Administrator, joined the OMSFC in the spring of 2018.  Nancy  was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario where she worked for over seventeen years in the Early Learning and Care Community.  She moved to this region six years ago and loves the area.  She, her husband and two daughters live with their two dogs and the dogs that they foster through a local Animal Rescue Organization.  Nancy is passionate about the Early Years and truly believes in the value in our youngest citizens.

Brenda Demarche, our full time program staff is excited to be working in the Millbrook community and surrounding areas. Brenda and her family recently moved to the region and they love it.  She has worked with children for a number of years now and becoming an RECE has been a great experience for her.  As a wife and mother of three boys, Brenda understands the dedication people put into raising their children and believes it is very important to give our little ones a strong foundation in order for them to thrive for years to come.

Amanda moved to Peterborough a few years ago with her family and has worked in Early Learning and Care for over 13 years.
